Easter 2012

We were invited to an Easter egg hunt on the Friday before Easter. Garret has class on Friday nights so I was hesitant to go by myself with the kids, but I'm so glad I did. They had a blast!
Ok, the thing I love about living out here is the fact that we can drive for 2 minutes and find places like this!

Kamden didn't get very many eggs because he was distracted by the one he just found.

I made the kids aprons to put in their Easter baskets this year. I thought they turned out so cute. They needed them! They always want to paint or help me cook, and these will be perfect to throw on over their clothes.

I have been realizing how important it is to write down the things that are special to me in my life. Easter Sunday is one of those things. I love the season and I love the events that it reminds us of. I had the opportunity to sing in a small choir on Easter, and so I was able to be reminded of the events every time I practiced. I am eternally grateful to my Heavenly Father for the blessings in my life, and for the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. I know He lives and I know He loves me and the little ones I am trying very hard to raise. It was a very happy Easter.

DC AND BALTIMORE

When we moved to Virginia, so many people had told us that the National Cherry Blossom Festival was a must on our "things to see" list. The trees had blossomed very early this year, so we actually went to see them before the festival had started. It was SO beautiful, and of course, pictures don't do it justice.

At the Jefferson Memorial

One of the other "things to see" was the inner harbor in Baltimore. There is a fabulous science museum right there, and so we decided to make a day of it. It was so much fun. We drove past the professional stadiums where the Ravens and Orioles play. The baseball stadium is Camden Yards, so Kam thought that was pretty cool. We went with 2 other families and had such a good time.
Kamden telling Garret what the dinosaur says.

This was a pulley machine where you could lift yourself by pulling on the rope. Garret had to help a little.

I LOVED their children's section. The whole Place is amazing with this water feature being one of the faves. Kam was in heaven.

I love these 3!

10 Months...

I wish that my hands could put down in words the feelings of my heart. I can only sit here and think about the tiny life that came into mine only 10 short months ago, and words just can't suffice...
He has been a BLESSING, a DREAM, and a JOY.
It has been my privilege to be his mother.

Mom, How many days til I'm 4?

This is what I would hear every day for the last month. This has really been the first year she has cared about having a birthday. She recently learned the days of the week and the months of the year, so she loved looking at the calendar and seeing her BIG day get closer and closer.
She wanted to wear a "party dress" and this was the one she chose from the closet....and, yes, she wore it all day!
I had to doll up my birthday girl!
DADDY/DAUGHTER lunch date to McDonalds.
She has no idea how lucky she is to have such an amazing daddy!

A tracing book and jacket from sweet grandma Lynette.
She got a helmet from the Palmers, and a scooter from mom and dad. These Kick brand scooters are amazing! She's getting so good on it... and way more daring than I want her to be!

"Can I have chocolate cake, Mommy!"

Jaida, who rarely asks for anything, YOU ARE SO LOVED! I hope you always feel of that love and know that I would make you chocolate cake any day!
Happy Birthday, my sweet girl.
